## Key takeaways

- The Asia Pacific IoT in warehouse management market is worth USD 3.43 billion in 2025 and USD 11.04 billion in 2035, a 12.40% revenue CAGR.
- About 64,950 connected sites at USD 52,800 each form the 2025 base; sites grow 10.20% a year and spend per site 2.00%.
- Sensors and RFID tags lead at 33.5%; IoT platforms and analytics software grow fastest at 14.6% a year.
- China spends 41.0% of value; India grows fastest at 17.2%; Zebra Technologies leads with about 6.9%.
- Chinese warehouses carry about USD 7.07 of IoT per 1,000 parcels, rising toward USD 13.59 by 2035 as spend per site deepens.

China's couriers handled 151.30 billion parcels in the first nine months of 2026, up 4.3% on a year earlier after a 13.7% rise to 199.0 billion in 2025, the State Post Bureau [reported on 19 October 2026](https://www.spb.gov.cn/gjyzj/c100015/c100016/202610/d825347972b7427c95a9fe68ff355ce8.shtml), and slower parcel growth now pushes warehouses to get more from every square metre. The Asia Pacific IoT in warehouse management market covers the Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, radio-frequency identification (RFID) tags and readers, gateways, connectivity, platform and analytics software, and integration and managed services that warehouses, distribution centres and fulfilment centres in Asia Pacific buy to track inventory, assets, equipment and workers. Douglas Insights sizes it at USD 3.43 billion in 2025, from about 64,950 connected warehouse sites at an average USD 52,800 of annual IoT spend each, and at USD 11.04 billion in 2035, a 12.40% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The study is the Asia Pacific row of our worldwide [IoT in Warehouse Management Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/iot-in-warehouse-management-market/) model, sits beside our [U.S. IoT in Warehouse Management Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/u-s-iot-in-warehouse-management-market/) and [Bluetooth Beacon Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/bluetooth-beacon-market/) reports inside our [warehouse and logistics automation coverage](https://www.douglasinsights.com/industry/ict-semiconductors/warehouse-logistics-automation/), and every figure follows the Douglas Insights [research methodology](https://www.douglasinsights.com/research-methodology/).

## Which component carries the most IoT in warehouse management value: sensors and RFID tags, platforms or services?

Sensors and RFID tags carry the most, 33.5% of 2025 regional IoT in warehouse management value or USD 1.15 billion, Douglas Insights estimates. IoT platforms and analytics software grow fastest, at 14.6% a year to USD 3.42 billion by 2035.

| Component | Share 2025 | Value 2025 | CAGR 2026-2035 | Value 2035 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Sensors and RFID tags | 33.5% | USD 1.15 billion | 11.0% | USD 3.26 billion |
| IoT platforms and analytics software | 25.5% | USD 874.5 million | 14.6% | USD 3.42 billion |
| Integration and managed services | 22.0% | USD 754.5 million | 12.7% | USD 2.49 billion |
| Gateways and connectivity | 19.0% | USD 651.6 million | 11.0% | USD 1.85 billion |

Sensors and RFID tags lead because tags are consumed carton by carton and the region makes most of them. The RAIN Alliance counted 42.7 billion RAIN RFID tag chips shipped worldwide in 2025, down from a record 52.8 billion in 2024 as apparel buyers destocked, its [2025 shipment update](https://therainalliance.org/?p=51375) shows. At 33.5%, the hardware share sits above the 31.7% worldwide figure in our global model because Chinese and Southeast Asian sites still buy more tags and fewer software seats per dollar than North American ones.

IoT platforms and analytics software, USD 874.5 million in 2025, grows 14.6% a year as Japanese, Korean and Australian operators move from on-premise warehouse management systems (WMS) to cloud dashboards for location, slotting and robot fleets. Integration and managed services, USD 754.5 million, grow 12.7% because each robot cell and reader portal must be wired into an existing WMS. Gateways and connectivity, USD 651.6 million, grow 11.0% to USD 1.85 billion as private 5G and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) gateways replace Wi-Fi-only builds. Component values for 2035 sum to USD 11.02 billion, 0.14% below the USD 11.04 billion headline.

## How does IoT in warehouse management spending split by application and end user?

Inventory optimization takes 30.2% of 2025 IoT in warehouse management value in the region, about USD 1.04 billion, Douglas Insights estimates, and asset tracking 23.5%. Retail and e-commerce buyers account for 39.5%, about USD 1.35 billion.

Inventory optimization leads because cycle counts, slotting and stock accuracy pay back within a year at high-turn parcel sites. Asset tracking, about USD 806.0 million, follows as operators tag pallets, roll cages and returnable crates. Predictive maintenance takes 16.1%, about USD 552.2 million, driven by conveyors, shuttles and robot fleets that must not stop at peak; workforce management and safety takes 15.8%, about USD 541.9 million; and cold chain monitoring 14.4%, about USD 493.9 million, all Douglas Insights estimates. Cold chain grows fastest of the five, because China added refrigerated storage to 267 million cubic metres in 2025, up 5.53%, and sold 81,969 refrigerated trucks, up 30.2%, the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing cold chain committee said, [Huanqiu reported on 28 January 2026](https://china.huanqiu.com/article/4Q91Qoa8ItC).

By end user, retail and e-commerce lead at 39.5%, third-party logistics (3PL) providers buy 24.0%, about USD 823.1 million, manufacturing 19.5%, food and beverage 10.0% and healthcare and pharmaceuticals 7.0%, about USD 240.1 million, all Douglas Insights estimates. Retail's share is higher than the worldwide figure because Chinese platform logistics arms run their own giant networks and buy sensors at scale.

## What drives IoT in warehouse management growth: parcel volume, robotics, logistics law or cold chain?

Connected warehouse sites grow 10.20% a year in our base case, from about 64,950 in 2025 to 171,550 in 2035. Four drivers add 11.60 gross points; restraints remove 1.40.

### Parcel and e-commerce volume: 4.10 points

Parcel volume is the largest driver, worth 4.10 points. China delivered 199.0 billion express items in 2025, up 13.7%, for express revenue of about RMB 1.5 trillion, the State Post Bureau said, [Xinhua reported on 20 January 2026](https://www.news.cn/20260120/f58670ffa5b24e96902f5649f9a33cf6/c.html). JD Logistics alone ran more than 1,600 self-operated warehouses and over 2,000 third-party cloud warehouses, with revenue up 18.8% to RMB 217.1 billion, its [annual results of 5 March 2026](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0305/2026030500918.pdf) show. Growth slowed to 4.3% in January to September 2026, so Douglas Insights holds the parcel contribution flat after 2027 rather than extrapolating 2025.

### Robotics and automated distribution centres: 3.10 points

Robotics adds 3.10 points, because every robot fleet needs location tags, sensors and a control platform. Geekplus lifted 2025 revenue 31.6% to RMB 3.17 billion, booked new orders of RMB 4.137 billion and had delivered more than 72,000 robots, its [annual results of 30 March 2026](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0330/2026033004236.pdf) show, after listing in Hong Kong on 9 July 2025. Daifuku's orders rose 31.6% to JPY 440.2 billion in the six months to June 2026, its [results of 6 August 2026](https://www.daifuku.com/ir/assets/FY2026Q2e.pdf) show, and Woolworths completed its AUD 1.3 billion automated Moorebank precinct on [13 November 2025](https://www.woolworthsgroup.com.au/au/en/media/latest-news/2025/woolworths-opens-new-regional-distribution-centre.html).

### Logistics law and labour shortages: 2.40 points

Japanese logistics law adds 2.40 points. From April 2026 shippers handling 90,000 tonnes or more a year, trucking firms with 150 or more vehicles and warehouse operators storing 700,000 tonnes or more must file plans and periodic reports, and large shippers must appoint a chief logistics officer, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) [guidance updated 15 May 2026](https://www.mlit.go.jp/seisakutokatsu/freight/content/001995938.pdf) states. MLIT's [draft recommendation for the FY2030 logistics policy outline](https://www.mlit.go.jp/seisakutokatsu/freight/content/001984794.pdf) puts the trucking capacity gap at about 7% on average and up to 25% in the worst case, and dock scheduling and loading-time data need sensors to report.

### Digital logistics and cold storage: 2.00 points

Digital logistics adds the last 2.00 points. India's logistics cost was 7.97% of gross domestic product (GDP), or INR 24.01 lakh crore, in 2023-24, a government [backgrounder of 27 November 2025](https://static.pib.gov.in/WriteReadData/specificdocs/documents/2025/nov/doc20251127708001.pdf) states, and the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP) had passed 160 crore application programming interface (API) transactions by August 2025, the [16 September 2025 release](https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2167224&reg=48&lang=2) shows. India had 8,760 cold storages holding 39.7 million tonnes on 30 January 2025, a [Lok Sabha answer of 11 February 2025](https://eparlib.sansad.in/bitstream/123456789/2988580/1/AU1338_qL7sHC.pdf) states. Summed, 4.10 + 3.10 + 2.40 + 2.00 = 11.60 points, a Douglas Insights estimate; after 1.40 points of restraints the 10.20% site leg times the 2.00% spend leg gives the 12.40% revenue rate.

## What holds back IoT in warehouse management: integration cost, spectrum fragmentation or tag destocking?

Three restraints remove 1.40 points a year from connected-site growth: legacy integration takes 0.60 points, fragmented radio spectrum 0.40 points and swings in tag demand 0.40 points, Douglas Insights estimates.

Legacy integration is the sharpest drag. Many regional 3PL and manufacturing sites still run local WMS builds that cannot ingest real-time sensor streams, so a pilot that works in one building takes 12 to 24 months to roll across a network, on Douglas Insights estimates. Integration also eats budget: we estimate first-year installation at about 2.4 times the steady annual spend per site, which pushes small operators in India and Southeast Asia toward barcode-only upgrades.

Spectrum fragmentation takes 0.40 points. Ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID readers run at 920.5-924.5 MHz in China, 916.7-920.9 MHz in Japan, 865-867 MHz in India, 917-920.8 MHz in South Korea and 920-926 MHz in Australia, a [GS1 summary of national rules](https://www.gs1.org/docs/epc/uhf_regulations.pdf) shows, so a regional operator must certify and stock several reader variants. Tag demand swings take the final 0.40 points: worldwide RAIN chip shipments fell 19.1% in 2025 on apparel destocking, per the [RAIN Alliance](https://therainalliance.org/?p=51375), before Impinj revenue recovered 16.7% to USD 112.1 million in the quarter to September 2026, its [results of 28 October 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001114995/000119312526436184/pi-ex99_1.htm) show.

## Where in Asia Pacific does IoT in warehouse management spending grow fastest: China, India or Southeast Asia?

China buys the most, about USD 1.41 billion or 41.0% of 2025 value. India grows fastest, at 17.2% a year to USD 1.93 billion by 2035, on new grade-A parks, cold storage and digital logistics.

| Country or sub-region | Value 2025 | Share 2025 | Value 2026 | CAGR 2026-2035 | Value 2035 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| China | USD 1.41 billion | 41.0% | USD 1.58 billion | 12.1% | USD 4.41 billion |
| Japan | USD 668.8 million | 19.5% | USD 733.0 million | 9.6% | USD 1.67 billion |
| India | USD 394.4 million | 11.5% | USD 462.2 million | 17.2% | USD 1.93 billion |
| Southeast Asia | USD 325.8 million | 9.5% | USD 375.0 million | 15.1% | USD 1.33 billion |
| South Korea | USD 257.2 million | 7.5% | USD 285.5 million | 11.0% | USD 730.3 million |
| Australia and New Zealand | USD 240.1 million | 7.0% | USD 264.8 million | 10.3% | USD 640.0 million |
| Rest of Asia Pacific | USD 137.2 million | 4.0% | USD 154.2 million | 12.4% | USD 441.6 million |

China leads on scale: about 25,240 connected sites at USD 55,700 each, a Douglas Insights estimate, fed by 199.0 billion parcels and the warehouse networks of JD Logistics, Cainiao and the courier groups. Its value grows 12.1% a year to USD 4.41 billion as parcel growth slows and spending shifts to robots and software per site. Japan, USD 668.8 million, has the highest spend per site, about USD 86,700, but grows 9.6% because its warehouse stock is already well equipped; the April 2026 logistics law keeps it from slowing further.

India, USD 394.4 million, grows fastest at 17.2% from a low base of about 15,050 connected sites spending USD 26,200 each. Southeast Asia, USD 325.8 million, grows 15.1% on Indonesian, Vietnamese and Thai e-commerce hubs and Malaysian and Singaporean regional distribution centres. South Korea, USD 257.2 million, grows 11.0%; Samsung SDS's Cello Square logistics platform had 24,625 business users in 2025, up 27%, its [results of 26 January 2026](https://www.samsungsds.com/en/news/financial-260126.html) show. Australia and New Zealand, USD 240.1 million, grow 10.3% as grocers automate, and the Rest of Asia Pacific, led by Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Philippines, grows 12.4%. Country values sum to USD 3.85 billion in 2026, 0.10% below the headline, and USD 11.15 billion in 2035, 1.00% above it.

## Who supplies IoT in warehouse management, and how concentrated is the field?

Zebra Technologies holds about 6.9% of 2025 regional IoT in warehouse management value, a Douglas Insights estimate, ahead of Brady with Honeywell's former productivity business at 3.4% and Daifuku at 2.6%. The top three hold about 12.9%, the top six 17.9%.

| Company | Base and position | Latest filed figure | Estimated share 2025 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Zebra Technologies | Lincolnshire; mobile computers, RFID readers, scanners | Asia-Pacific sales USD 613 million, 2025 | 6.9% |
| Brady (Honeywell Productivity Solutions and Services) | Milwaukee; scanners, mobile computers, RFID | USD 1.4 billion purchase closed 3 August 2026 | 3.4% |
| Daifuku | Osaka; automated systems and control software | Orders JPY 672.6 billion, 2025 | 2.6% |
| Geekplus | Beijing; robot fleets and fleet software | Revenue RMB 3.17 billion, 2025 | 2.2% |
| Samsung SDS | Seoul; logistics platform and integration | Logistics revenue KRW 7.39 trillion, 2025 | 1.6% |
| Impinj | Seattle; RAIN RFID chips and readers | Revenue USD 112.1 million, Q3 2026 | 1.2% |

Zebra's Asia-Pacific sales rose 16.5% to USD 613 million in 2025, out of USD 5.40 billion in total, its [annual report filed in February 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/877212/000162828026007668/zbra-20251231.htm) shows, and reached USD 190 million in the quarter to 3 October 2026, up 16.6%, its [quarterly report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0000877212/000162828026069444/zbra-20261003.htm) shows. We place about USD 236.6 million, 38.6% of those regional sales, in warehouses. Brady completed its USD 1.4 billion purchase of Honeywell's Productivity Solutions and Services business, about USD 1.1 billion of 2025 sales, on [3 August 2026](https://bradyid.gcs-web.com/news-releases/news-release-details/brady-corporation-completes-transformational-acquisition), putting a large installed base of scanners and voice-picking systems under a new owner.

Daifuku and Geekplus count only for their sensing, control and fleet software; their racks, shuttles and robots sit outside this market. Avery Dennison's Solutions Group, which includes RFID inlays, sold USD 687.0 million in the quarter to September 2026, down 1.8% reported, its [results of 29 October 2026](https://s205.q4cdn.com/945924874/files/doc_financials/2026/q3/ThirdQuarter2026EarningsPressRelease.pdf) show. JD Logistics and Cainiao build much of their own technology and are counted as buyers, not sellers. Hundreds of Chinese reader makers, integrators and local software houses share the remaining 82.1%.

## How much does a connected warehouse spend on IoT each year, and how fast does that price rise?

A connected warehouse in the region spends about USD 52,800 a year on IoT in 2025, Douglas Insights estimates, 29.2% below the USD 74,600 worldwide average, from about USD 26,200 in India to USD 86,700 in Japan.

The regional average sits below the world figure because lower labour costs and low-cost Chinese readers and tags cut the bill per site. Average annual spend per site is about USD 55,700 in China, USD 75,100 in South Korea, USD 83,300 in Australia and New Zealand and USD 44,500 in Southeast Asia, all Douglas Insights estimates. The spend covers tags and sensors, readers and gateways, platform licences and integration labour, and the 2.00% price leg takes the average to about USD 53,860 in 2026 and USD 64,370 in 2035.

Two forces set the price leg. Software subscriptions and robot fleet licences rise faster than hardware, adding about 2.8 points of mix a year, a Douglas Insights estimate. Against that, unit hardware prices fall: a passive UHF label costs a few US cents and Chinese fixed readers undercut imported ones, which takes about 0.8 points back. Zebra's 20.4% Asia-Pacific sales rise in the nine months to October 2026, against a USD 538 million total, shows that buyers are still paying up for rugged devices.

## What rules shape IoT in warehouse management, from logistics law to radio bands and data protection?

Three layers of rules shape IoT in warehouse management in the region: Japan's amended logistics law from April 2026, India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules of 14 November 2025, and national UHF radio bands.

The logistics layer is the most direct. Japan's amended Logistics Efficiency Act requires specified shippers, trucking firms and warehouse operators to file medium- to long-term plans and periodic reports through the e-Gov portal, per [MLIT guidance](https://www.mlit.go.jp/seisakutokatsu/freight/content/001995938.pdf), and the data on loading times and waiting at docks comes most cheaply from sensors and dock-door readers. Douglas Insights treats this as the main reason Japanese spend per site keeps rising despite a mature installed base.

The data layer is newer. India notified the DPDP Rules with an 18-month phased compliance window, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said on [14 November 2025](https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=2190014&reg=3&lang=2), so worker wearables and camera analytics need consent and retention policies before roll-out. The radio layer sets hardware: power limits range from 2 W effective radiated power in China and Singapore to 4 W in Japan, India, South Korea and Australia, per the [GS1 summary](https://www.gs1.org/docs/epc/uhf_regulations.pdf). Douglas Insights expects no change to these bands before 2030.

## What if automation speeds up or parcels slow: how large is IoT in warehouse management in 2035?

The regional IoT in warehouse management market ends 2035 between USD 8.04 billion and USD 14.52 billion across three cases, around a USD 11.04 billion base. Chinese parcel growth and robot adoption set most of the spread.

| Case | Site leg | Spend per site leg | Revenue rate | 2035 value |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Slower | 7.60% | 1.20% | 8.89% | USD 8.04 billion |
| Base case | 10.20% | 2.00% | 12.40% | USD 11.04 billion |
| Faster | 12.60% | 2.60% | 15.53% | USD 14.52 billion |

In the slower case Chinese parcel growth stays near the 4.3% of 2026, tag destocking returns and Indian park construction slips, taking 2.60 points off the site leg and 0.80 points off spend. In the faster case robot fleets spread from parcel hubs to grocery and 3PL sites, adding 2.40 points to sites and 0.60 points to spend. One extra point of yearly revenue growth adds about USD 1.02 billion to 2035 value, and one point less removes about USD 944.0 million, Douglas Insights estimates.

Company signals bracket the base case. Zebra's regional sales grew 16.5% in 2025 and Geekplus orders 31.7%, while RAIN chip volumes fell 19.1%, the sources above show. Our 12.40% sits between the robot makers' order books and the slower tag cycle.

## Douglas Exclusive: the Parcel-to-Sensor Ledger

The Parcel-to-Sensor Ledger is a Douglas Insights model built from 10 inputs: 6 government or official documents and 4 company filings. It tracks how many US dollars of warehouse IoT each 1,000 Chinese parcels carry, and how fast that rises.

| Date | Input | What it moves |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 11 February 2025 | India 8,760 cold storages, 39.7 million tonnes | Cold chain sites |
| 16 September 2025 | ULIP passes 160 crore API transactions | Platform demand |
| 14 November 2025 | India DPDP Rules notified | Wearable roll-out timing |
| 20 January 2026 | China 199.0 billion parcels in 2025 | Parcel base |
| 28 January 2026 | China cold storage 267 million cubic metres | Cold chain sites |
| 5 March 2026 | JD Logistics 1,600 self-operated warehouses | Connected sites |
| 30 March 2026 | Geekplus revenue up 31.6% | Robot-linked spend |
| 15 May 2026 | MLIT logistics law thresholds | Japanese spend per site |
| 19 October 2026 | China 151.30 billion parcels, January to September | Parcel growth |
| 3 November 2026 | Zebra quarterly sales USD 1.61 billion | Device spend |

The finding, a Douglas Insights estimate: Chinese warehouses carried about USD 7.07 of IoT spend per 1,000 parcels in 2025, USD 1.41 billion over 199.0 billion parcels, rising to about USD 7.59 in 2026 as value grows 12.1% while parcels grow near 4.3%. If parcels grow 5% a year to 2035, intensity reaches about USD 13.59 per 1,000 parcels, nearly double today's level.

The ledger changes how to read Chinese demand. Through 2025 suppliers sold to new sites; from 2026 most growth comes from spending more on each existing site, so vendors with software, robot fleet and managed-service revenue gain share over pure tag and reader sellers.

## How does the methodology turn 64,950 sites into USD 3.43 billion?

Our methodology multiplies about 64,950 connected warehouse sites in the region by an average USD 52,800 of annual IoT spend to reach USD 3.43 billion in 2025, then grows sites 10.20% and spend 2.00% a year.

The model covers 4 components, 5 applications, 5 end users and 7 countries or sub-regions, using 62 data points, 21 sourced and 41 modelled. Sites come from warehouse counts, company filings and cold storage data; spend comes from country site budgets, all Douglas Insights estimates. Arithmetic: 64,950 x USD 52,804 = USD 3.43 billion; USD 3.43 billion x (1.1020 x 1.0200)^10 = USD 11.04 billion, within 0.04% of the headline. Sites reach about 71,575 in 2026 and 171,550 in 2035.

Two cross-checks agree. First, USD 3.43 billion is the Asia Pacific row of our worldwide model, 27.3% of its USD 12.56 billion total, and our 12.40% rate equals that row's rate. Second, our USD 236.6 million estimate for Zebra is 38.6% of its USD 613 million Asia-Pacific sales, consistent with a company that also sells into stores, factories and hospitals. AI tools help draft the text and automated checks test the arithmetic and links; the Douglas Insights research desk chooses the sources, builds the model and approves publication, as our [editorial standards](https://www.douglasinsights.com/research-methodology/) explain.

## What counts in the IoT in warehouse management study, and what is excluded?

The study counts connected sensing, identification, connectivity, software and services bought for warehouses and distribution centres in Asia Pacific, valued at first sale. Robots, conveyors, racking, forklifts and stand-alone WMS licences are excluded.

The study splits value by 4 components, 5 applications, 5 end users and 7 countries or sub-regions: China, Japan, India, Southeast Asia, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand and the Rest of Asia Pacific. Captive technology built by JD Logistics or Cainiao is counted only where it is bought from outside suppliers. Worldwide figures appear in our [IoT in Warehouse Management Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/iot-in-warehouse-management-market/) report, and power-free tags in our [Battery-Free Sensors and Smart Passive Sensing (SPS) Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/battery-free-sensors-and-smart-passive-sensing-sps-market/) study.
