Fall Season And Dressing Up For It In 2022

Fashion-wise, fall is one of the most exciting times of the year. The year 2022 is no different. With fall right around the corner, we are sitting in nail-biting anticipation of what’s going to be trendy this year! The beauty of fashion is that it seeps into your daily attire, and you don’t really have to make an active effort. You get enticed by the things that appeal to you and naturally divert your attention to them.

Bringing Back Y2K Trends

Y2K trends are making a comeback, but don’t worry; they are not as over the top as they used to be! We start with what was perhaps the bane of every woman’s existence back in the day: low-rise jeans. Britney Spears and her flat stomach might have pulled it off at the start of the millennium, but we swore to let the trend stay buried. 

However, this fall, low-rise jeans are making a comeback. Yes, the slimmer population might be more inclined to try it, but our curvier people are not very receptive to the news. However, the trend dictates that you pair something longer when utilising your low-rise jeans to cover your stomach. Low-rise jeans intend to make the abdomen look more uniform instead of chopping the stomach off in random spots. 

And for anyone who isn’t too thrilled by the denim trend, cargo pants are also coming back with a bang. The warm khaki is the perfect fall colour, and the pockets offer great utility!

Furthermore, even trucker hats are making a comeback for Fall 2022. They can tie together the perfect casual outfit, and you can see some of your favourite celebs, from Dua Lipa to Rihanna, donning them this year! 

Elevated Footwear

Chunky heels, platforms, clogs, and anything that will give you a bit of a lift is in this fall. Think bright, warm tones of orange, maroon, olive, or monochromes. Chunky loafers are also making a statement in fall 2022. 

Another way to complete your fall look is going for boots. Long boots, above the knee, with a chunky heel, paired with a mini skirt, will very much be making waves this year. 

Outerwear

Blazers have always been a statement fall look for as long as our generation can remember fall fashion. Oversized, clean, and straight cuts, or more shaped blazers that accentuate your waist. You can go for traditional fall colours, including brown, maroon, or ochre, or you can pick up a sassy animal print. Even monochromatic blazers are trendy this fall, along with snazzy chequered and plaid prints. 

In another turn of events, Barbie pink is also popping up in trends this fall. Traditionally utilised in spring and summer months only, Barbie pink accessories or outerwear will have you wearing your crown as a fashion icon this year without looking back. 

Puffer jackets paired with shorts or straight jeans are also trendy this fall. The only tricky situation with puffer jackets is choosing the best accessories for them, but we’re almost certain that you will have no trouble doing that!

Monochrome

Monochromatic statements are in this fall season. Plain white tank tops, black jogger pants, and then accessorise as you wish. Fall is usually associated with warm colours, so you can pair your outfit with a mustard handbag or a vivid coral belt. If you’re not big on accessorising, then doing your makeup in fall colours is another way to let the monochromatic look stick around. 

Faux Leather

Faux leather is trendy in all kinds of clothing this fall, from skirts to pants, to tops and even dresses. If you really want to make a statement at a dinner party or another snazzy event, pair your faux leather outfits with something sparkly and put your hair in a sleek ponytail. Don’t forget the maroon lippie!

Oversized Clothes

Lastly, the one thing carried on from the previous seasons this fall is oversized clothing. The key lies in how you layer it: you wear an oversized shirt with tight shorts or pants, or you wear a crop top or a skinny shirt with oversized pants. Or, you put together a tight ensemble and throw an oversized jacket or blazer on top. And you’re ready to get heads turning!
