Viatris agreed on 8 October 2026 to buy Pacira BioSciences, maker of the EXPAREL bupivacaine liposome, for USD 36.50 a share in cash, Pacira's [quarterly report for the period to 30 September 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001396814/000162828026071136/pcrx-20260930.htm) shows, after EXPAREL sales reached USD 575.1 million in 2025. The liposome injection market covers injectable medicines in which the drug is carried inside phospholipid vesicles: liposomal amphotericin B, doxorubicin, bupivacaine, paclitaxel, irinotecan, daunorubicin-cytarabine, mitoxantrone, verteporfin and similar products, brand and generic, valued at manufacturer selling prices. Lipid nanoparticle messenger RNA vaccines, inhaled liposomes such as amikacin and empty liposome excipients are excluded. Douglas Insights sizes the market at USD 3.70 billion in 2025, about 46.3 million vials at an average USD 80, and at USD 6.17 billion in 2035, a 5.24% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The study sits beside our [Nasal Drug Delivery Technology Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/nasal-drug-delivery-technology-market/), [High Potency API Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/high-potency-api-market/) and [Infectious Disease Treatment Market](https://www.douglasinsights.com/infectious-disease-treatment-market/) reports; every figure follows the Douglas Insights [research methodology](https://www.douglasinsights.com/research-methodology/).

## Which liposome injections earn the most: amphotericin B, doxorubicin, bupivacaine, paclitaxel or irinotecan?

Liposomal amphotericin B earns the most, 27.0% of 2025 value or USD 999 million, Douglas Insights estimates. Doxorubicin liposome takes 24.0%, bupivacaine liposome 16.5%, irinotecan liposome 7.5% and paclitaxel liposome 6.0%.

| Molecule | Share 2025 | Value 2025 | CAGR 2026-2035 | Value 2035 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Amphotericin B liposome | 27.0% | USD 999 million | 3.6% | USD 1.42 billion |
| Doxorubicin liposome | 24.0% | USD 888 million | 2.2% | USD 1.10 billion |
| Bupivacaine liposome | 16.5% | USD 611 million | 6.2% | USD 1.11 billion |
| Paclitaxel liposome | 6.0% | USD 222 million | 6.0% | USD 398 million |
| Irinotecan liposome | 7.5% | USD 278 million | 5.5% | USD 474 million |
| Daunorubicin-cytarabine liposome | 4.0% | USD 148 million | 3.5% | USD 209 million |
| Other liposome injections | 15.0% | USD 555 million | 9.5% | USD 1.38 billion |

Amphotericin B leads because it is the standard lipid formulation for invasive fungal infections and visceral leishmaniasis on every continent, so it sells in both hospital and public tender channels. Gilead's AmBisome sold USD 509 million in 2025, USD 267 million of it in Europe and USD 221 million in the rest of the world but only USD 20 million in the United States, its [fourth quarter and full year 2025 release of 10 February 2026](https://s29.q4cdn.com/585078350/files/doc_financials/2025/q4/GILD-Q425-FY25-Earnings-Press-Release-10-February-2026.pdf) shows. Generic vials from Sun Pharma, Eugia and Chinese makers fill most of the remaining USD 490 million, a Douglas Insights estimate; value grows only 3.6% a year to USD 1.42 billion by 2035 because brand sales are eroding.

Doxorubicin liposome, USD 888 million, grows slowest at 2.2% a year because China's procurement round reset its largest national market. Bupivacaine liposome, USD 611 million, is almost all EXPAREL and grows 6.2% to USD 1.11 billion as surgeons move away from opioids. Paclitaxel liposome, USD 222 million, is a China-only product: Luye Pharma calls Lipusu "the only marketed paclitaxel liposome for injection in the world" in its [2025 annual results of 31 March 2026](https://www.luye.cn/lvye_en/uploads/2026-03/31/_1774935136_ixi2od.pdf). Irinotecan liposome grows 5.5% and other liposomes, including mitoxantrone, verteporfin and new molecules, grow fastest at 9.5% to USD 1.38 billion. Molecule values for 2035 sum to USD 6.10 billion, 1.2% below the headline.

## Who uses liposome injections: oncology, anti-infective or surgical care settings?

Oncology uses about 48% of 2025 value, Douglas Insights estimates, anti-infective care about 28% and surgical pain care about 17%; eye and other uses take the rest. Hospitals administer about 86% of vials.

Oncology dominates because four of the seven molecule groups are cancer drugs: doxorubicin for ovarian cancer, Kaposi sarcoma and myeloma, paclitaxel for gastric, breast and lung cancer, irinotecan for pancreatic cancer and daunorubicin-cytarabine for secondary acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). Douglas Insights estimates about 19 million oncology vials in 2025 at an average USD 94. The liposome shell changes where the drug goes in the body, cutting cardiac toxicity for doxorubicin or extending exposure for irinotecan, which is why these products keep their place in treatment guidelines even after the free drug has gone generic.

Anti-infective use is almost entirely amphotericin B, given in intensive care units, haematology wards and transplant centres, and in public programmes for leishmaniasis. Surgical use is mainly EXPAREL, a single-dose local infiltration that lasts up to 72 hours. Pacira reported 7% volume growth for EXPAREL in the fourth quarter of 2025, its [full-year 2025 release of 26 February 2026](https://investor.pacira.com/node/19206) states, and 4% in the second quarter of 2026, its [release of 4 August 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001396814/000162828026052527/pcrx-06302026x991.htm) shows, as ambulatory surgery centres added procedures that once required a hospital stay.

## What drives liposome injection demand: China oncology access, non-opioid surgery, fungal infections or new launches?

Vials sold rise 6.20% a year in our base case, from about 46.3 million in 2025 to 84.4 million in 2035. Four drivers add 7.60 gross points; restraints remove 1.40.

### China oncology access: 2.40 points

Wider access in China is the largest driver, worth 2.40 points. Luye's oncology revenue rose 10.2% to RMB 2.30 billion in 2025, and Lipusu is on the National Reimbursement Drug List for all its indications, the [Luye 2025 annual results](https://www.luye.cn/lvye_en/uploads/2026-03/31/_1774935136_ixi2od.pdf) show. CSPC Pharmaceutical won approval for its irinotecan liposome, Duoenyi, for first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer in December 2025, and its mitoxantrone liposome, Duoenda, is reimbursed for relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphoma, its [annual results of 25 March 2026](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0325/2026032500273.pdf) state. Douglas Insights estimates that China used about 11 million liposome vials in 2025 and that reimbursed listings add about 1.0 million vials a year to 2030.

### Non-opioid surgical analgesia: 2.00 points

Opioid-sparing surgery adds 2.00 points. Pacira sold USD 575.1 million of EXPAREL in 2025, up 5% from USD 549.0 million, and guides to USD 600 million to USD 620 million for 2026, the [Pacira release of 26 February 2026](https://investor.pacira.com/node/19206) shows. Nine-month 2026 EXPAREL sales rose 3.4% to USD 433.6 million, the [third quarter 2026 report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001396814/000162828026071136/pcrx-20260930.htm) shows. Pacira signed an agreement on 5 October 2026 with Molteni Farmaceutici to sell EXPAREL in the European Union and the United Kingdom, its [news archive](https://investor.pacira.com/archived-news-releases) lists, which Douglas Insights estimates adds about 0.4 million vials a year by 2030.

### Invasive fungal infections and generic reach: 1.80 points

Amphotericin B adds 1.80 points. AmBisome's rest-of-world sales rose 4.2% to USD 221 million in 2025 from USD 212 million, the [Gilead release of 10 February 2026](https://s29.q4cdn.com/585078350/files/doc_financials/2025/q4/GILD-Q425-FY25-Earnings-Press-Release-10-February-2026.pdf) shows, while CSPC says its amphotericin B liposome, Ansulike, "grew rapidly" in 2025 and has a US application filed, its [2025 annual results](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0325/2026032500273.pdf) state. Douglas Insights estimates that about 9 million amphotericin B liposome vials were used in 2025, growing 5% a year as transplant, haematology and intensive care numbers rise in Asia and Latin America.

### Pancreatic cancer and new launches: 1.40 points

New indications add the last 1.40 points. Onivyde sales rose 6.2% at constant exchange rates to EUR 207.4 million in 2025 on first-line metastatic pancreatic cancer use in the United States, Ipsen's [results of 12 February 2026](https://www.ipsen.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/Ipsen-PR_FY-2025-Results-Announcement_12022026.pdf) show, and 11.2% at constant rates to EUR 108.0 million in the first half of 2026, its [release of 30 July 2026](https://www.ipsen.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Ipsen-PR_HY-2026_30072026.pdf) states. Summed, 2.40 + 2.00 + 1.80 + 1.40 = 7.60 points; after 1.40 points of restraints the 6.20% vial leg combined with the minus 0.90% value-per-vial leg gives the 5.24% revenue rate.

## What holds back liposome injections: competing medicines, complex manufacturing or hospital budgets?

Three restraints remove 1.40 points a year from vial growth: competing non-liposomal medicines take 0.60 points, complex manufacturing and supply gaps 0.50 points and hospital formulary budgets 0.30 points.

Competing medicines are the largest brake. Onivyde sales fell 22.3% at constant exchange rates to EUR 38.7 million in the third quarter of 2026, which Ipsen attributes to US competitive pressure after the "approval of a new medicine in Q3", its [nine-month release of 22 October 2026](https://via.ritzau.dk/files/90446/15240077/582401/en) states. Vyxeos, Jazz Pharmaceuticals' daunorubicin-cytarabine liposome for AML, fell to USD 146.7 million in 2025 from USD 162.6 million, its [results of 24 February 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1232524/000123252426000012/a4q25financialpr.htm) show, and to USD 92.0 million in the first nine months of 2026 from USD 112.0 million, its [release of 2 November 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001232524/000123252426000056/a3q26earningsrelease.htm) shows, as newer AML regimens take patients.

Manufacturing is the second brake. Liposomes must hold a set vesicle size, lamellarity and drug-to-lipid ratio, and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) asks for this data in its [April 2018 liposome drug products guidance](https://www.fda.gov/regulatory-information/search-fda-guidance-documents/liposome-drug-products-chemistry-manufacturing-and-controls-human-pharmacokinetics-and). Few plants can make sterile liposomes at scale, so a single line stoppage removes supply: the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) listed Dr. Reddy's 2 mg/mL doxorubicin liposome vials on back order in its [shortage entry updated 17 December 2024](https://www.ashp.org/drug-shortages/current-shortages/drug-shortage-detail.aspx?id=969). Hospital budgets are the third brake: Douglas Insights estimates that about 15% of eligible patients in middle-income countries still receive conventional amphotericin B deoxycholate because the liposome costs more per course.

## Which region buys the most liposome injections, and where does demand grow fastest?

Asia Pacific buys the most, about USD 1.33 billion or 36.0% of 2025 value, led by China and India. Asia Pacific also grows fastest at 6.6% a year, reaching USD 2.52 billion by 2035.

| Region | Value 2025 | Share 2025 | Value 2026 | CAGR 2026-2035 | Value 2035 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Asia Pacific | USD 1.33 billion | 36.0% | USD 1.42 billion | 6.6% | USD 2.52 billion |
| North America | USD 1.26 billion | 34.0% | USD 1.32 billion | 4.8% | USD 2.01 billion |
| Europe | USD 814 million | 22.0% | USD 843 million | 3.6% | USD 1.16 billion |
| Latin America | USD 167 million | 4.5% | USD 176 million | 5.5% | USD 284 million |
| Middle East and Africa | USD 130 million | 3.5% | USD 137 million | 6.0% | USD 232 million |

Asia Pacific leads on volume because China has its own liposome makers in CSPC, Luye and Jiangsu Hengrui and India supplies generic amphotericin B and doxorubicin liposomes at low cost. CSPC's oncology revenue halved to RMB 2.20 billion in 2025 from RMB 4.40 billion, its [2025 annual results](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0325/2026032500273.pdf) show, so value per vial in China fell while vial counts rose; Douglas Insights estimates China at about 58% of the region.

North America, USD 1.26 billion, is the highest-value region per vial, with EXPAREL, Onivyde and Vyxeos all mainly US brands; it grows 4.8%. Europe, USD 814 million, grows only 3.6% as AmBisome's European sales fell to USD 52 million in the third quarter of 2026 from USD 69 million, Gilead's [release of 29 October 2026](https://s29.q4cdn.com/585078350/files/doc_financials/2026/q3/GILD-Q326-Earnings-Press-Release-29-October-2026.pdf) shows. Latin America, USD 167 million, and the Middle East and Africa, USD 130 million, grow 5.5% and 6.0% from public tenders for amphotericin B and oncology liposomes. Regional values sum to USD 3.89 billion in 2026, matching the headline, and USD 6.21 billion in 2035, 0.7% above it.

## Which companies lead liposome injections, and how is the Viatris-Pacira deal changing the field?

Pacira BioSciences leads with about 15.5% of 2025 value, a Douglas Insights estimate, ahead of Gilead at 13.8%, Ipsen at 6.3% and CSPC and Luye Pharma at about 6% each. The top five hold about 48%.

| Company | Base and liposome product | Latest filed figure | Estimated share 2025 |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Pacira BioSciences | Brisbane, California; EXPAREL | EXPAREL USD 575.1 million, 2025 | 15.5% |
| Gilead Sciences | Foster City; AmBisome | AmBisome USD 509 million, 2025 | 13.8% |
| Ipsen | Paris; Onivyde | Onivyde EUR 207.4 million, 2025 | 6.3% |
| CSPC Pharmaceutical | Shijiazhuang; Duomeisu, Duoenda, Duoenyi, Ansulike | Oncology RMB 2.20 billion, 2025 | 6% |
| Luye Pharma | Yantai; Lipusu paclitaxel liposome | Oncology RMB 2.30 billion, 2025 | 6% |
| Jazz Pharmaceuticals | Dublin; Vyxeos | Vyxeos USD 146.7 million, 2025 | 4.0% |

The Viatris purchase is the largest change. Viatris agreed on 8 October 2026 to pay USD 36.50 a share in cash, launched its tender offer on 30 October 2026 and expects to close before the end of 2026, with a termination fee of USD 62.0 million, the [Pacira quarterly report](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001396814/000162828026071136/pcrx-20260930.htm) states. The deal puts the largest liposome brand inside a global generics and specialty company, which Douglas Insights expects to widen EXPAREL's reach outside the United States.

Generic makers form the second tier. Sun Pharma received the first US generic approval for amphotericin B liposome 50 mg vials on 15 December 2021 with 180-day competitive generic therapy exclusivity, its [release](https://dev.sunpharma.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/12/Press-Release-US-FDA-Approval-for-Generic-Amphotericin-B-Liposome-Injection.pdf) states, and Eugia Pharma, part of Aurobindo, followed, its [filing of 18 November 2022](https://nsearchives.nseindia.com/corporate/AUROPHARMA_18112022101115_LtrPRAmphotericinB.pdf) shows. Lupin launched a generic of Baxter's Doxil in the United States with its partner ForDoz, [Indian Pharma Post reported on 3 September 2024](https://www.indianpharmapost.com/regulatory/lupin-launches-doxorubicin-hydrochloride-liposome-injection-in-us-16120). Fresenius Kabi, eVenus, Jiangsu Hengrui, Dr. Reddy's, Zydus and Cipla complete the field; CSPC licensed US rights to its irinotecan liposome to Cipla USA for USD 15 million upfront, its 2025 annual results state.

## What does a liposome injection cost per vial, and why does value per vial fall?

A liposome injection vial sells for an average USD 80 in 2025, Douglas Insights estimates, from about USD 25 for an Asian generic to more than USD 300 for a US brand. Value per vial falls 0.90% a year.

The average drops to about USD 73 by 2035, a Douglas Insights estimate, because generic entry and procurement cut list prices faster than mix shifts toward expensive brands. China's tenders set the floor: CSPC says Duomeisu entered the tenth batch of national volume-based procurement and took "substantial price reductions", which with its other procured product halved oncology revenue, its [2025 results](https://www1.hkexnews.hk/listedco/listconews/sehk/2026/0325/2026032500273.pdf) state. US generic entry did the same for amphotericin B: AmBisome's US sales fell from USD 44 million in 2024 to USD 20 million in 2025, the [Gilead release](https://s29.q4cdn.com/585078350/files/doc_financials/2025/q4/GILD-Q425-FY25-Earnings-Press-Release-10-February-2026.pdf) shows.

Branded prices hold better where payers add separate payment. From 1 January 2025 the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) pays EXPAREL separately in hospital outpatient departments and ambulatory surgery centres at average sales price plus 6% under code J0666, Pacira's [release of 4 November 2024](https://investor.pacira.com/node/17676) states. Even so, Pacira said second quarter 2026 EXPAREL revenue was held back by vial mix and wider group purchasing discounts, its [release of 4 August 2026](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/0001396814/000162828026052527/pcrx-06302026x991.htm) shows. Douglas Insights estimates US branded vial prices rise about 2% a year while generic and Chinese tender prices fall about 4%.

## Which rules shape liposome injections, from FDA guidance to China procurement and US pain payment?

Four kinds of rules shape the market: liposome-specific quality guidance in the United States and Europe, generic equivalence rules, China's reimbursement and procurement system, and US payment rules for non-opioid pain medicines.

Quality guidance sets the cost of entry. The FDA's final guidance on liposome drug products, covering chemistry, manufacturing and controls, human pharmacokinetics and labelling, was issued in April 2018 under docket FDA-2016-D-2817, the [FDA guidance page](https://www.fda.gov/regulatory-information/search-fda-guidance-documents/liposome-drug-products-chemistry-manufacturing-and-controls-human-pharmacokinetics-and) shows. The European Medicines Agency's reflection paper on data requirements for intravenous liposomal products developed with reference to an innovator product, EMA/CHMP/806058/2009/Rev. 2, has applied since 13 March 2013, the [EMA page](https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/data-requirements-intravenous-liposomal-products-developed-reference-innovator-liposomal-product-scientific-guideline) states, and asks for comparative quality, non-clinical and pharmacokinetic data rather than a simple bioequivalence study.

Patent settlements set generic timing. Pacira's settlement of 7 April 2025 with Fresenius Kabi, eVenus and Jiangsu Hengrui grants a volume-limited generic EXPAREL licence from a date in early 2030, starting at a high single-digit share of US volume and peaking in the high 30s, and an unlimited licence from 2039; the last listed patent expires on 2 July 2044, its [Form 8-K](https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1396814/000139681425000051/pcrx-20250407.htm) shows. US pain payment adds a time limit: CMS lists EXPAREL among non-opioid treatments paid separately under section 4135 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, with payments running through 31 December 2027, its [non-opioid treatments page](https://www.cms.gov/medicare/payment/prospective-payment-systems/hospital-outpatient-pps/non-opioid-treatments-pain-relief) shows. In China, reimbursement listing and national procurement batches decide both access and price, as CSPC's and Luye's 2025 results show.

## What if generics arrive faster or new liposomes succeed: how large is the liposome injection market in 2035?

The liposome injection market ends 2035 between USD 4.69 billion and USD 8.15 billion across three cases, around a USD 6.17 billion base. Chinese vial growth and generic erosion set most of the spread.

| Case | Vial leg | Value-per-vial leg | Revenue rate | 2035 value |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Slower | 4.50% | -2.00% | 2.41% | USD 4.69 billion |
| Base case | 6.20% | -0.90% | 5.24% | USD 6.17 billion |
| Faster | 8.00% | 0.20% | 8.22% | USD 8.15 billion |

In the slower case more molecules enter Chinese procurement, competing AML and pancreatic cancer medicines take share and the US non-opioid payment lapses after 2027, taking 1.7 points off the vial leg and 1.1 points off value per vial. In the faster case new liposomal products win approval, EXPAREL gains European and Chinese launches and CSPC's US filings succeed, adding 1.8 points of vials and 1.1 points of value. One extra point of yearly revenue growth adds about USD 600 million to 2035 value, Douglas Insights estimates.

Company signals bracket the base. EXPAREL grew 3.4% in the first nine months of 2026, Onivyde was flat at constant exchange rates, AmBisome fell 11% and Vyxeos 18%; our 5.24% rate sits above these brands because Chinese and generic vials grow faster than branded revenue.

## Douglas Exclusive: the Liposome Brand Erosion Tracker

The Liposome Brand Erosion Tracker is a Douglas Insights model built from 12 inputs: 8 brand sales disclosures, 2 Chinese oncology revenue lines and 2 generic-entry dates. It measures how fast branded liposome revenue gives way.

| Brand | Nine months 2025 | Nine months 2026 | Change |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| EXPAREL (Pacira) | USD 419.3 million | USD 433.6 million | +3.4% |
| AmBisome (Gilead) | USD 391 million | USD 347 million | -11.3% |
| Vyxeos (Jazz) | USD 112.0 million | USD 92.0 million | -17.9% |
| Onivyde (Ipsen) | EUR 151.4 million | EUR 146.7 million | -3.1% |

The finding: the three US-dollar brands sold USD 872.6 million in the first nine months of 2026, 5.4% less than the USD 922.3 million of a year earlier, and only EXPAREL grew. Adding Onivyde, the four leading Western liposome brands shrank about 5.0% in a year when, by Douglas Insights estimates, global liposome vial use grew about 6%. The gap is the clearest sign that volume is moving to generics and Chinese makers.

The tracker changes how to read the next decade. Branded liposome value will hold only where the brand has patent cover or a payment advantage, as EXPAREL has until early 2030, Douglas Insights estimates, while elsewhere growth will come from lower-priced vials. Companies with their own liposome plants and filings in several regions, such as CSPC, Sun Pharma and Fresenius Kabi, are best placed.

## How does the methodology turn 46.3 million vials into USD 3.70 billion?

Our methodology multiplies about 46.3 million liposome injection vials sold in 2025 by an average USD 80 to reach USD 3.70 billion, then grows vials 6.20% a year and lowers value per vial 0.90% a year.

The model covers 7 molecule groups, 3 care settings and 5 regions, using 58 data points, 21 sourced and 37 modelled. Brand sales come from company filings, converted at 2025 average exchange rates, with Onivyde's EUR 207.4 million taken as about USD 234 million; generic and Chinese volumes are Douglas Insights estimates built from company disclosures and treated-patient counts. Arithmetic: 46.25 million vials x USD 80 = USD 3.70 billion; USD 3.70 billion x (1.062 x 0.991)^10 = USD 6.17 billion. Vials reach about 49.1 million in 2026 and 84.4 million in 2035.

Two cross-checks agree. First, the four filed Western brands, EXPAREL, AmBisome, Onivyde and Vyxeos, sold about USD 1.46 billion in 2025, 40% of our total, leaving USD 2.24 billion for doxorubicin, paclitaxel, generic amphotericin B and Chinese products. Second, Luye's and CSPC's whole oncology lines of RMB 2.30 billion and RMB 2.20 billion, about USD 620 million together, sit above the roughly USD 440 million of liposome revenue we assign to the two companies. AI tools help draft the text and automated checks test the arithmetic and links; the Douglas Insights research desk chooses the sources, builds the model and approves publication, as our [editorial standards](https://www.douglasinsights.com/research-methodology/) explain.

## What counts in the liposome injection study, and what is excluded?

The study counts injectable liposomal medicines, brand and generic, for cancer, fungal and parasitic infections, pain and eye disease. Lipid nanoparticle mRNA products, inhaled and topical liposomes, liposomal vaccine adjuvants and contract manufacturing fees are excluded.

The study splits value by 7 molecule groups, 3 care settings and 5 regions: Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East and Africa. Values are in US dollars at 2025 average exchange rates, counted at manufacturer net selling prices.
