Chemical commodity prices by country

The monthly unit value of a country's trade in a commodity: the customs value of the month's exports (FOB, for net exporters) or imports (CIF, for net importers) divided by the customs tonnage, from national customs statistics as compiled by UN Comtrade. It is the price the market actually cleared at on the customs record, not a quote or an estimate.

Each commodity page lists its published countries and the ones still in verification; subscribers set the order in which new countries and commodities are added.

Monthly, as each country's customs statistics publish; most reporters release a month within six to ten weeks of its end. A month is published only after it passes the desk's checks against the previous months and the other countries; a month that fails is held, not estimated.

Free: quarter means per country one quarter behind, a world figure a few months old, the quarter chart, the producers and the methodology. Every monthly figure is computed from the customs record, checked for volume (a month below the tonnage floor is held), for movement against the previous months (a move above the threshold needs a written note) and for coverage (a country is published when it has enough months).
