Method

How are the pipelines counted?

Every count starts from registered interventional trials on ClinicalTrials.gov. The same molecule under its code, generic and brand names is merged into one candidate, and each candidate is placed at the highest phase of its running or recent trials. Placebo, comparator and standard-of-care arms are never counted, and every merge is reviewed by the research desk.

Each edition is one frozen dataset that passes ten checks before release and is approved by the owner. See the research methodology.
