Market research ages. A figure cited from a report published two years ago may no longer be the publisher’s current view, and most report pages give the reader no way to tell. Douglas Insights handles this with editions.
What an edition records
Each report page shows its current edition number, the publication date of that edition, and the scheduled date of the next review. When a new edition replaces an old one, the material changes are listed: figures revised, sections added, companies profiled, assumptions updated.
Why it matters for citation
Anyone who cited a Douglas Insights figure can return to the report page and check whether the figure still stands, and if it changed, when and why. The recommended citation format on every report page includes the edition number for this reason.
Corrections are logged the same way
Errors corrected between editions are recorded in the same history under the corrections policy, so the page never silently changes under a citation.
